A designer and a strategist — Philipp Thesen is a thought leader in the field of strategic design for digital transformation. He advises organizations how to strategically leverage the full potential of design, to differentiate by meaningful customer experiences, to innovate and to transform their business.

Philipp has two decades of experience as designer, strategy consultant and leader of international design teams. As Chief of Design at Europe’s largest telecommunications company he was responsible for the design strategy, the design of all products and digital user experiences, as well as the worldwide implementation of customer experience principles. His focus on driving the role of design as a strategic asset won him and his team hundreds international design awards. He was nominated as Germanys digital leader of the year in 2017.

At the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences Philipp holds a professorship for design with a focus on Human-System-Interactions. In his academic role he is researching at the intersection of design and ai and teaching digital product, service and system design.

As an author, international keynote speaker and jury member of numerous design competitions he is engaged in developing the field of strategic design.
